The new OpenCam 3 videoconferencing software combines the advantages of peer-to-peer technology with those of a client-server system. It is the ideal solution for videoconferences of up to 40 participants or, if you prefer, for distributing data over a server due to upload bandwidth restrictions. OpenCam 3 combines the best of two worlds: the advantages of the peer-to-peer technology with those of the client server system. This new hybrid technology is a further development of our proven videoconferencing software daViKo 3. No costly, intermediate server (MCU) is needed, as OpenCam 3 uses central Internet servers to distribute data. The contact manager of OpenCam 3 accepts only confirmed contacts in your home directory. With the search function, you can find specific participants, let them know that you want to contact them and upon receiving confirmation, add them to your contact list. This makes working with OpenCam 3 pleasant and secure.
